Most founder content dies because it sounds approved by 6 people
The posts that perform best are usually slightly uncomfortable, opinionated or unfinished. Perfectly polished founder content often gets ignored because it feels emotionally risk-free.
Why this matters
People dont engage with positioning. They engage with signals.
The story
Context
I worked with 3 SaaS founders recently. The highest-performing post wasnt the launch thread. Wasnt the feature announcement. Wasnt even product related. It was a messy late-night post where the founder admitted they almost fired a customer because the account consumed more operational energy than revenue justified. The writing wasnt clean. Grammar wasnt perfect. But people trusted it because it sounded lived-in. Most B2B content right now feels engineered to offend nobody and impress everybody. Which usually means nobody remembers it.
Takeaway
If every sentence sounds optimized for LinkedIn applause, people stop feeling there’s a real operator behind the account.
